Writing this after getting a High from the incredible win by CSK in the playoff! The resilience which this team has shown throughout the tournament surely makes it stand apart from the rest. And What makes this team do that is that every player in the team is a match winner by himself.
We know that every cricketer has a bad day, but a well-placed team like CSK is one which survives despite that. CSK is one team where seemingly ordinary players do extraordinary things, on days when it is needed the most!
They have some of the best talent around, especially with Stephen Fleming as their coach and Dhoni as their captain they have 50% of work already done for them.
These are few highlights of CSK team in IPL4 for they'll be remembered for:
Jakati for his wicket taking, but more for his Karbonn Kamaal catches
Dhoni's big shots when it matters the most...hope this trend continues for him
Badrinath - Mr Dependable
Saha - already contesting with Badrinath for Mr Dependable title
Albie - Fierce in his bowling attack especially after the defeat against MI, but his match-winning sixes are what has got him most recognition
Bollinger - his aggression in bowling has troubled many a batsman
Ashwin - Mr Consistent with ball
Hussey - A match-winner with his bat; on a good day, can stick around for 20 overs
Murli Vijay - batting or fielding, he's contributing
Raina - dynamism and team spirit on field, and a mature innings in the playoff match against RCB
Aniruddha Srikkanth - His brilliance with bat in his first game
All these players have had their day in the field in IPL4 when they have taken the team to victory almost single handedly.
Who'll do that it in the finals is what needs to be seen. Will it be Bravo or someone else?
This team never fails to learn from defeats and comes out stronger after every defeat. CSK has mastered the art of fielding after defeat by Mumbai Indians, and also strengthened their bowling, though feel some more work can go in this department.
Batting lineup has always been formidable, but after the team succumbed to RCB's bowling attack in the match before playoffs, the batsmen have also emerged stronger.
Whether it is luck or the Buddha touch or alchemist effect or sheer ingenuity of Dhoni, but nowadays when Indians pray to God, they ask Him to rub off a bit of that onto them too.
Last but not the least, we should not let go unnoticed the fact that CSK is the top rank holder in the Kingfisher fair play award category.
So, in all fairness - Way to go CSK! Awaiting another Whistle podu performance in finals..
